..all of us making and unmaking ourselves,
–from "Slant" by Suji Kwock Kim
hurrying forwards, toward who we’ll become, one way only, one life only:
free in time but not from it,
here in the city the living make together, and make and unmake over and over
Quick, quick, ask heaven of it, of every mortal relation,
feeling that is fleeing,
for what would the heart be without a heaven to set it on?
I can’t help thinking no word will ever be as full of life as this world,
I can’t help thinking of thanks.
Sometime in 2001, I think, my dad told me I should be making books. I’d made books as a hobby for years but he meant that it should be my life’s work. It took me a few years and a few office jobs to figure it out for myself.
My decision to leave the world of business casual and bad midtown Manhattan delis to take a chance on an idea turns out to have been just the right one. I’m nearly four years into Campbell Raw Press as my full time venture and my days—while often pinball-like in their patterns—are my own. Matt & I work nonstop this time of year but we can’t tell you how rewarding it is to work this hard on something we love. We have a beautiful little life.

As the busiest month of the year begins for us, we wanted to take a five minute break, peek out from behind from the stacks of paper, and say thank you.
If you’ve purchased a set of cards, complimented our work, come to us for your wedding invitations, or looked upon our enterprise with kindness over the last few years, we want to say a sincere thank you. Your support of our work allows us to live the life we want to live. We are here and cranking away because of you, and there is so much more to come.
Thank you.
Maggie & Matt
A. You’re Welcome.
B. I’m almost certain that your friends and family are more proud of of the incredible, unique, painstaking work that you do than you are. It truly is a pleasure to feel connected to Campbell Raw Press in even the tiniest of ways. You guys are badass. Thank YOU!
Thank you a million times over, Mr. Baranowski. You guys are front and center on my support team and always have been. I can’t thank you enough for believing in what I do…helps me to not feel like quite so much of a crazy woman.
