Vladimir Nabokov was not only an internationally renowned author, but a butterfly expert whose hypotheses about butterfly migration have recently been proven true. (See this fascinating NY Times article)
This album features some of Nabokov's obsession, front and center, on a decorative paper with a vintage scientific illustration of butterflies. Across the top of the front cover is the text "Histoire Naturelle" and 3 butterflies and one caterpillar grace the front, with another 3 specimens on the reverse.
We have a two year-old and I feel like I watch these changes happen at light speed these days. This album would be a beautiful spot to show off pictures of a time in life of great change and growth and development, whether childhood or later life.
I make all of my books entirely by hand in Brooklyn, and they are made to be used and enjoyed, and to last for generations.
